Indian couple Manav Thakkar and Archana Kamath sailed in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Asian Table Tennis Championships in Doha, Qatar, when they got a better Serg Od Gankhuyag and Undram Munkhbat from the Mangolia team. India is a sure medalist in the men’s team competition.
Indians Manav Thakkar and Archana Girish Kamath continued their fine form and continued in the quarter-finals of the quarter-table games at the 2021 Asian Table Tennis Championships in Doha, Qatar. The Indian duo defeated Serg-Od Gankhuyag and Undram Munkhbat of Mangolian 3-1 (11-6, 11-3, 5-11, 11-4) in 32 matches.
The couple will face Kazakhteam, Anastassiya Lavrov and Kirill Gerassimenko on Friday, according to an Olympics.com report.
On the other hand, Harmeet Desai and Sreeja Akula won their semifinals against Sadia Rahman Moua and Ramhimlian Bawm of Bangladesh 3-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-3). They met Hong Kong Doo Hoi Kem and Wong Chun-ting. But the duo faltered 3-1 (7-11, 8-11, 11-5, 7-11).
Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team will compete for fifth place after winning Chinese Taipei 3-1. After losing to Japan in the quarter, the women faced Taipei 5-8 and won it easily.
The men’s team has a happy moment, as in the history of the tournament, they have secured their first medal when they managed to reach the semi-finals. They are in operation on Friday.
