Lee Sang-soo won a single gold medal at the Asian Table Tennis Championships … ‘Shin Yu-bin and Jin Ji-hee’ win women’s singles

On Day 5 (Korean time), Lee Sang-soo played a set of 3-2 (10-12 11-6 11-6 7-11) against Zhuang Ziyuan (Taiwan) in the Asian Table 2021 men’s singles final. The Tennis Championships were held at Lusail Sports Arena in Doha, Qatar on the 5th (Korean time). 11-8) and won the championship. Lee Sang-soo won the gold medal at the 2013 Busan Championships, but this is the first time he has won the singles title since. Lee Sang-soo, who previously won a gold medal in the team competition, also won two gold medals in this competition.

Lee Sang-soo first gave up the batch. He then took 2 and 3 sets of plenty of space, but again gave up 4 sets and took the game in the final set. The fifth set continued until the last minute of the game. However, they managed to score consecutive goals in the last minute and won 11-8. The match was tight until the middle of the game, but they escaped 9-6 and won the game. After that, they gave the chase 8-9, but the game ended with consecutive goals at the last minute.

Korea also won a previous women’s singles match. Shin Yu-bin and Jeon Ji-hee defeated Hong Kong’s Du Hoi Kem and Li Ho-Qing group with a score of 3-1 (11-5 7-11 11-3 11-4) and won. Thus, Korea won the women’s singles gold medal for the first time in 21 years since the 2000 Doha Asian Championships (Lee Eun-sil and Seok Eun-mi).
