On a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Naval Station in Newport, The Naval Academy Preparatory School earned its first win in football season 2021 32-6 from visiting Jersey Gators.
The NAPS national football team dominated the opening kick, collecting more than 400 yards of attacks and more than 300 yards on the field. The NAPS defense was in command all day, they didn’t give the Gators an attack point. Thedefense caused 3 sales and 4 kicks in the afternoon. Corner players Devean Washington and Andrew Duhart performed strongly.
The NAPS defense has been particularly scarce this season, handing just 7 points per game and forcing 5 turnovers. The NAPS attack marched down the field in opening mode, limiting the 47-yard drive to a 22-yard TD handled by TK Kocak. The attack is not disputed early by scoring the first four assets of the game and opening a 25-point lead. The offense showed that they are as effective in the air as on the ground, throwing two goals. A 12-yard blow to Brandon Chatman and a 40-yard bomb to Donovan Draper, who made an excellent catch when disturbed.
The NAPS national football team looks set to continue its success in the next match against Howard Huskies from Euclid, OH on Saturday, October 9th.
