Lalchand Rajput kicks off Talim Shield on Saturday Cricket news

MUMBAI: Former Indian Opening Ceremony Lalchand Rajput kicks off the first local cricket tournament of the 2021-2022 Padmakar Talim Shield season at the MIG Cricket Club on Saturday morning.
Mumbai Cricket Association (Secretary General) CS Naik, Apex Council Member Nadeem Memon and MIG CC Chairman Sanjeev Patki have invited me to open the tournament. I would be happy to be present at the event, 59-year-old Rajput, who is currently coaching Zimbabwe and was the coach of the team that won the Indian T20 World Cup in 2007, told TOI on Friday. Rajput served as chairman of the CIC until February this year and has previously served as secretary of the MCA.
Talim Shield is played this season in a T20 format with dressed up clothes and white balls. It is the first local cricket tournament hosted by the MCA since a deadly second wave halted all cricket matches in the city.
In a move designed to prepare urban cricketers for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in November, the MCA has decided to play Talimi on the recommendation of the Cricket Improvement Committee, led by former Indian striker Jatin Paranjape. Plate in T20 format.
The tournament, which has traditionally been 45 transient events, was also played in T20 format last season in March.
