Scotland will face Andrey Rublev in the final of a three-day event after defeating Rafael Nadal in a 6-3 7-5 Spanish return match on Friday.
Murray also defeated Britain’s Dan Evans 6-3 6-2 on Thursday in the trade show as he continues to prepare for the season’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open, which starts on January 17th.
Before facing Rublev on the world list, the fifth on the current world list, Murray said, “This is another chance to play against a top player. He hits a huge ball from the back of the field, so be sure to test my movement.”
Rublev secured his place in the final with a win of 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 6-4 from Denis Shapovalov.
The match is scheduled to take place today (Saturday 18 December) and will start at 3pm UK time.
