STANFORD, California The Oregon women’s golf team is in fifth place through 18 holes at the Stanford Intercollegiate after the weekend opens 4 over 288 on Friday at Stanford Golf Course.
No. 5 Ducks coached this week as an assistant Monica Vaughn as head coach Derek Radley In Eugene, the remnants awaiting the birth of his third child were 4 over the first nine holes of the pair, before being shot up as a team behind nine. No. 1 Stanford leads the field at 11 a.m. on his home course.
Oregon led Ching-Tzu Chen, who was 2 under his last 14 holes and finished 2 under 69, good for a draw in the sixth. Stanford’s Rose Zhang leads the field 6-under par.
How did it happen: The bird in its second hole and the bogey in its fourth hole were in the Chen Republic early on, and the junior was the bedrock all the way. He was 1 through less than six holes and wrestled with nine consecutive pars before reaching 2 with a third bird less than a day. He finished his lap with a backrest and closed the set with 69.
Second year student Hsin-Yu (Cynthia) Lu ended the day with three shots back to Chen with a 1-over 72. Lu had two over nine in front before shooting 1 under behind nine, the title bird in his last hole of the day.
Senior Tze-Han (Heather) Lin was one stroke behind Lu, 2 over 73 and a junior Briana Chacon rounded the calculation results 3 to over 74. Junior Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen finished lineup 4 with over 75.

Please note: Oregon made 14 birdies as a team, and Chen, Lu, Chacon and Nielsen each recorded three Chen led teams of 14 total pars Chen had 1 under a day in the par-4 hole.
