Sale, Warian Pace Gophers on the first day of Isleworth College

MINNEAPOLIS – The Men’s Golf team at the University of Minnesota opened Isleworth College on Sunday at Isleworth Golf & Country Club. With 18 holes in the college golf championships, the Gophers are currently in exactly 11th place Antoine sales and Ben Warian are exactly 22nd match after 1-over-par.

Arizona State leads fourteen fields 11-under 277 after the first round. Auburn currently has second place in the pair and LSU is following after three shots. Individually, Arizona State Cameron Sisk and Preston Summerhays are tied at 5-under (67).

Both Sale and Warian started the day at 1-nine, and Sale saved one bird. Both pruned two birds and two bogs for a flat pair of nine and one over 73 days.

Senior Lincoln Johnson jumped strongly to the top, and the birds were in the first, sixth, and seventh holes. He had consecutive bogies of eight and nine to turn one under nine. After finding some difficulty in the back of nine, he went to 37th place on a 2-over day.

Harrison Arnold ended 6 over 78 and Bennett Swavely ended 9 over 81 and was tied for 60th and 71st.

The Gophers will kick off tomorrow in the second round, which will start with Swavely at 7:25 a.m. from the 10th hole. Arnold, Johnson, Warian and Sale follow every 10 minutes.
