After 110 minutes of play, including 90 minutes of adjustment and two overtime, this ten-ACC showdown ends in a 2-2 draw.

In the draw, No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Virginia are now tied for first place in the ACC.

The state of Florida got on foot and Beata Olsson scored in the first minute of the match. Olsson caught up with North Carolina goalkeeper Claudia Dickey in a row to win 1-0.

With less than 15 minutes left in the first half, Emily Murphy joined Isabel Cox, who left the goal back and equalized the game so that North Carolina moved to halftime in a 1-1 situation.

The visitors’ central defense should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Cox, but the Olsson player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. Both deserved a defense with their goal when goals were set from a pass that Cox passed close to and Olsson back.

The overtime saw a handful of opportunities on both sides, and North Carolina had a small pace in the final moments. Still, Florida State overtook North Carolina in 16-12 matches, including goals 6-4. North Carolina made 14 errors to Florida State 10 and had a small advantage in corner kicks in a 5-3 situation. This is the first ACC match this season in which Florida State has surrendered more than one corner kick to their opponent.

The Florida State’s 14-match winning streak, the NCAA’s longest active series, broke after that match. The Seminoles are unbeaten 14-0-1.

North Carolina will move in season 10-2-3. Anson Dorrance remains with a win of 899.
