Ireland won the throw and decided to hit the Do-or-die Twenty20 World Cup qualifier against Namibia at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

The game features the last remaining seat in the second round of the Super 12 stage as well as a guaranteed seat in the 2022 tournament in Australia.

Both teams have two points after winning from the Netherlands, but they didn’t survive Sri Lanka, which is at the top of Group A, and have already made it to the next round.

Ireland lost in 70 runs to the 2014 champions, while Namibia was hit after seven throws when it was disqualified by just 96.

Ireland has not made it to the second round since 2012, when Namibia will play in the tournament for the first time.

The Irish are unchanged from defeat to Sri Lanka, while Namibia has recalled the puck to replace Pikky Ya France’s Stephan Baard.
