The 2019 qualifiers will be co-hosted by Dubai and Abu Dhabi, who, after moving the tournament from India, will also be the final venue with Sharjah and Oman. “The nature of Associate Cricket today is that we all spend a lot of time here,” Cross says. “We already know the circumstances and have been here long enough to start feeling adapted. But in Scotland we are used to temperatures up to 23 degrees in the summer and in Oman from time to time 40 degrees. As a security guard I stand there with long sleeves, gloves and a helmet and I am just there for cooking. It’s not as bad at night, but during the day the matches just cook. “
