Emerance Maschmeyer blocked 19 shots on behalf of Canada, while busy Meeri Risnen blocked 40 shots on behalf of Finland.
The teams will meet on Saturday and Sunday in Turku.
The series of three Canadian matches in Finland is part of the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics in February and the national team’s first games outside North America since the 2019 World Cup in Espoo.
29 women have been concentrated in Calgary since July. The list of 23 players for the Olympics will be announced in late December.
Canada lost 3-2 in the penalty shootout to the United States in the 2018 Winter Championships gold medal match in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The bronze was grabbed by the Finns.
Daoust of Valleyfield, Que., Was Canada’s point leader at the August Women’s Ice Hockey World Championships in Calgary with six goals and six assists in seven games.
The 29-year-old was selected as the MVP of the tournament, which Canada won 3-2 overtime in the Americans final. Finland won bronze.
After returning from Finland, the Canadian women will continue the Rivalry series with the United States on November 21 in Kingston, Ont.
Canada won the first two of nine matches with goals 3-1 and 3-2.
