Will Shin Yu-bin, the “next generation ace” of women’s table tennis, grow again?

Shin Yu-bin (17, Korean Air, pictured), who gained valuable experience by attending the Olympics as the youngest Korean women’s table tennis player at the Tokyo Olympics, made great achievements such as winning the women’s doubles and finishing second in the doubles and team events at the Qatari Asian Championships in September. With a more mature appearance, she rose to the “next generation ace” of Korean women’s table tennis.

Now Shin Yu-bin is participating in the World Championships for the first time in his life to grow a new episode. For this purpose, Shin Yubin left for Houston, USA, where the 2021 World Cup finals will be held via Incheon International Airport on the 18th. This competition will be held from 23 to 29.

This world championship is a stage to strengthen Shin Yu-bin’s true abilities. This is because all the powerful European powers, including the world’s strongest China, who did not take part in the last Asian Championships, are coming out. When “finals” are added to the name of this tournament, where only individual matches are played, the tournament goes straight to the tournament without a preliminary round and results in a thin ice match where even if you lose only one match, you are eliminated immediately. Shin Yu-bin will compete in this tournament in the women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The women’s doubles are paired with Jeon Ji-hee (29, POSCO Energy) and the mixed doubles with Cho Dae-Seong (19, Samsung Life Insurance). Singles start at the 128 semi-finals and doubles from the 64 semi-finals.
