The cricket team here won a massive 411 run in a local tournament on Sunday, and the federal government is investigating whether there is a national or international record attached to it.

The winning side, the State Cricket Academy, recorded 481 against 6 in 40 prescribed moves before bundling out their opponents with 71 21.4 moves.

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is investigating whether it is the highest score and winning margin for any team in any recognized tournament, the senior official said.

The match was played as part of the Mahabir Prasad Agarwal Memorial U-16 Inter-Coaching Center Cricket Tournament 2021, organized by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA), an ACA-recognized body.

Diwiz Pathak hit 219 runs with 97 balls after the State Cricket Academy decided to hit first in a pair of 15 sixes and 25 limits.

He was supported by Varun Jajodi, who managed 104 runs from 64 balls and hit four sixes and 10 fours in his inning.

In response, Lokhra Cricket Academy made just 71 runs in 21.4 laps.

The 40-over-half tournament kicked off on Saturday at Judges Field here.

– It is likely that the team’s score and profit margin could be records. We are trying to ensure that, “said ACA Secretary Devajit Saikia.

– The matter is being investigated, and if records have indeed been reached, be it at the global or national level, we will ensure that they are properly recognized, Saikia said.
