Bombshell Novak Djokovic turns in the middle of a blackmail demand

Novak Djokovic, the father of the 20-time grand slam, says he does not expect his son to play in the Australian Open when he claims that Serb has been the victim of “blackmail” by tennis officials.

Djokovic participated in the grand slam tournament in Melbourne Park has been the subject of intense debate all over the tennis world when Australian Open officials announced that unvaccinated players could not participate and world number one refused to disclose his vaccination status.

The 34-year-old Djokovic, who would try to overtake his rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title in Melbourne, has refused to say whether he has been vaccinated against the coronavirus or not.

Djokovic has consistently stated that his status is a private matter and is his choice as to whether or not to vaccinate him.

But Australian Open tournament manager Craig Tiley has said all players must be double-charged to participate.

Speaking on Serbian television, Djokovic’s father, Srdjan, compared the restrictions to “blackmail” and made a bomb shout that his son “probably won’t play” in the first grand slam of the new year.

“Of course he would like to leave with all his heart,” Djokovic’s father, Srdjan, told Serbian Prda TV.

“Because he is an athlete and there are a lot of people in us, the (Serbian) diaspora, who would be happy to see Novak.

“But I really don’t know if that’s going to happen. Probably not in these circumstances, with this blackmail and when it’s done that way.”

Srdjan Djokovic also defended his son’s “exclusive and personal right” to be vaccinated or not, claiming that he did not even know if Novak had received the injection.

Tiley revealed last week that Djokovic “has said he considers this to be his own business.”

“We’d like to see Novak here. He knows he needs to be vaccinated to play here,” he added.

Djokovic became infected with Covid-19 during his Adria Tour in the Balkans in June 2020, but said he had no symptoms at all.

Tiley said last week he expects Djokovic to take part in the first grand slam of the new year. He said he could not imagine Serbia losing its chance to overtake Federer and Nadal in the all-time major list by winning the 10th Australian Open crown.

“He hasn’t shared his position with anyone,” Tiley told sports radio station SEN.

“He believes what you say about your medical status is private and he believes people should have the right to choose.”

But Tiley added: “Novak has won nine Australian Opens and I’m sure he wants to get to 10th.

– He has 20 Grand Slam titles, as well as Rafa Nadal, who is coming, and Roger Federer, so one of them surpasses the other.

“I don’t think Novak wants to leave that achievement to anyone else.

“One thing’s for sure, if he plays here in January, he’s vaccinated.”

Djokovic said over the weekend that “we have to wait and see” when asked if he will come to Melbourne Park to defend his title.

Currently, about 85 percent of players have scored, and Tiley said he expects it to reach 95 to 100 percent in January.

“We take a lot of credit for it because we put a vaccination requirement on it (coming to Australia),” he said.
