One of the things that makes fantasy football so fascinating is the variety. Derrick Henry was RB1 in all fantasy semi-PPR formats in 2020, but Henry himself had only three weeks of fantasy as the top scorer. This means that in individual weeks, some very strange players can lead the league in fantasy points in place.
This opens the door for some room to be “spicy” and make funny predictions. In a landscape where “hot shots” are igniting more and more, it can be difficult to understand the difference between a bold prediction – based on a particularly strong team or player – and a senseless vision when prayer comes to the right foundation. in terms of variance.
Let’s first look for five points of interest in this weekend’s NFL matches.
(All predictions are for half-PPR and FanDuel scores for quarterbacks.)
1. “Who Dat” label: Taysom will not release the top 15 matches of the week against Tampa Bay
Thousands of fantasy managers will turn to Taysom Hill this weekend with their fantasy team outside of the quarterback. It is much more dangerous than advertised.
As well reported, Hill has a mallet finger that affects his ability to throw the ball, and the results have not been great. In two starts, Hill has sent -0.15 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop. It rose against the Jets last week, but New York is the NFL’s highest pass (0.28 NEP per drop allowed).
Tampa Bay is a different story. The bucks are number 12 in the defense overall, and they have actually done a better job this season against the feed (6th) than against the run (18th). It’s a surprise because Tampa was the best overall defense a year ago, but Tevita Vea has fought for his injuries as a defender of their top shelf.
With so little threat in the feed game and Vea healthy, the choice is Bucs ’stout run defense from a year ago to bring to the surface, bottling Hill and Saints to the ground., and forces Taysom to cause air damage.
In that case, he probably won’t perform well enough to break into the top 15 quarterback this week.
2. Social Distance from Defenders: Chubb Accelerates COVID-Riddled Browns by 100 Martial Yards and Touchdown
Eight brown was placed in the COVID-19 Injured Reserve on Tuesday. As long as Nick Chubb isn’t second by Saturday, I still believe the Browns will move the ball and will likely win.
Chubb has a back field for himself despite Kareem Hunt being sidelined due to an ankle problem. When D’Ernest Johnson gets involved at times, Chubb should see all the work he can handle. He averaged 17.6 positions and 1.7 goals per game as Hunt sat between weeks 7 and 11 this year.
It’s hard to dismiss against the Las Vegas Raiders defense, one of the worst in the NFL. After Jon Gruden resigned for Week 6, the Raiders allowed 0.17 defensive NEPs per game, the third worst in the league.
Chubb’s biggest downside as a fantasy background is he usually doesn’t see much work in the backyard. On the hunt out, he should have more chances, and the Raiders are struggling badly to cover their backs in the passing game. They have allowed the sixth most custom fantasy points per item for opponents.
While he’s nowhere near returning the top eight picks he paid for in most fantasy drafts, if you’ve managed to find playoffs around him, Chubb might reward your patience handsomely on Saturday.
3. Monday Night Flight: J-Jets is WR1 against Chicago
As my colleague Brandon Gdula said, Justin Jefferson has had a generation, once in a lifetime start for his Viking career.
Just one problem – it’s not always translated into once in a lifetime fantasy production.
This is because Adam Thielen is historically productive in the red zoneand in addition the presence of Dalvin Cook typically results in a smaller piece of overalls in Jefferson’s touchdown. However, Thielen is a real question mark with a high ankle sprain on Monday.
This injury has resulted in Jefferson throwing 29 goals in the last two weeks. His 3.53 yards per route run in this area is also the best in the league. He has been very productive with Thielen off the field, and the J-Jets have won four touchdowns in the last four games, even though Thielen was in surrender mode.
Chicago, which had just been engraved by Aaron Rodgers, officially became the NFL’s best fantasy match per target. They allow for 1.64 custom fantasy points per item in width.
Jefferson is an awesome player, he’s full of volume, and Chicago has been the league’s worst passing defense on the wide. It looks like an obvious spot to target Jefferson as a WR1 all-around player in week 15.
4. No stopping in Kitt: The 49ers ’tight head makes the third consecutive 100-yard run
I hope I get a dollar every time someone from the fantasy community says a player is a “league winner”. My student loan would have gone.
However, George Kittle is winning leagues at the moment. The tight head is still a really bad whole; TE12 in the half-PPR forms this week was Kyle Rudolph 7.6 with fantasy points. Kittle has accumulated 31.4 half-PPR points per game in the last two weeks. It’s way too much to win to win a personal, opposing match in most places.
The trip here has been frustrating, but the star of San Francisco is back. It would be one thing if Kittle made long touches to six goals in the game, but Kittle has seen 27 goals in the last two weeks in this monstrous run. That’s a 40.3 percent target stake with Deebo Samuel back in week 14 and Brandon Aiyuk plays in both competitions.
Atlanta was not profiled to be the one to slow down Jimmy Garoppolonew favorite. Fighting Falcons let in the fifth most custom fantasy points per target tough ends (1.60), and they just lost Erik Harris for the year a torn chest muscle.
With crazy volume, Kittle breaks the limit of the century by getting his third game in a row, and that’s probably another huge advantage for Kitty’s managers, who have potentially made it to the playoffs in recent weeks.
5. Buffalo Bounce Back: Bills D / ST is in the top five against Carolina
In Buffalo’s near-return week 14, the primary story was a transient crime by Josh Allen and Bills.
However, their defense was limited by Tom Brady and the Bucs only nine points in the second half, and that might be the best news. Buffalo has numberFire’s best overall defense, third best rush defense and second best pass defense, so indeed this team is based on their defense as much as Allen.
Despite its success, the Buffalo D / ST may have fallen in abandonment in recent weeks. They had a bad match against New England for just three Mac Jones feed attempts, and then the match with Bucs didn’t inspire confidence either. They should have a huge chance to recover from the Panthers attack.
The Panthers allow 29 percent pressure as a crime, and it hasn’t made life easier for Cam Newton’s weird quarterback tandem. and PJ Walker. Carolina has let their opponents make the top five D / ST attempts for three consecutive days, and now they’re traveling to cold, windy Buffalo for a year-long stiff defense.
I was as worried about losing Tre’Davious White as anyone else, but the second half in Tampa in week 14 – plus this safe match – allowed me to go around the carriages once again. The Bills is a great stream if it is available in week 15.
