Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova will miss the Australian Open in January after breaking her arm in practice, her husband and manager Michal Hrdlicka said on Thursday. “Karolina broke her radius … at a gym at a training camp in Spain,” Hrdlicka said in a statement, adding that the treatment will take about four weeks. “Unfortunately, I’m away for a while and won’t compete in my favorite tournaments in Australia,” 29-year-old Pliskova said on Facebook.

“Some days are worse than others … but time and faith can heal everything,” added the right forearm bandage in the world’s fourth photo posed.

Pliskova has yet to win a Grand Slam tournament, as she made it to the finals of the 2016 US Open and then lost three sets to Ashleigh Barty in the Wimbledon finals this year.

Pliskova – whose best performance at the Australian Open was qualifying for the 2019 semi-finals – has not missed the Grand Slam since the 2012 US Open.
