Clemson Lands in 15 All-ACC Academic Softball Team – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, SC The Clemson softball team finished the 2023 season with 15 student-athletes named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Softball Team, the conference office announced Tuesday. Highlighting the announcement is redshirt junior Valerie Cagle (Yorktown, Va.), who will be selected as the 2023 Softball Scholar-Athlete. McKenzie Clark (Myakka City, Fla.), Alia Logoleo (Nashville, Tenn.) and Millie Thompson (Bedford, Conn.) also earned their third career All-ACC Academic Team nods, while Cagle, Caroline Jacobsen (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Aby Vieira (Mission Viejo, Calif.) each earned their second honor.

The academic requirement for selection into the group is a 3.0 grade point average from the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during the academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in 50 percent of their team’s contests and/or ACC Championships and/or NCAA Championships during the most recent season.

Other honorees include Reedy Davenport (St. Johns, Fla.), Ansley Houston (Grantville, Ga.), JoJo Hyatt (Buford, Ga.), Madison May (Valdosta, Ga.), Brooke McCubbin (Locust Grove, Ga. ) , Ally Miklesh (Stevens Point, Wis.), Maddie Moore (Loomis, Calif.), Arielle Oda (Buford, Ga.) and Regan Spencer (Lexington, NC).

The Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 49-12 overall record and made a Super Regional appearance for the second consecutive season. The 2023 season was also highlighted by several individual awards, such as Cagle being named the USA Softball Player of the Year and the ACC Player of the Year, and Jacobsen being named a CSC Academic All-American.
