Packers help equip 10 under-resourced football programs

The Green Bay Packers today announced that they are sponsoring 10 high school football programs as part of this NFL Foundation partnership with a non-profit initiative True Impact Football. Through sponsorship, these schools have access to football coaching training, player development, and fundraising.

This partnership responds to the growing challenges faced by under-resourced football programs. Each selected high school football program has the opportunity to include their local football programs (e.g., elementary teams, high schools, etc.) to receive the same resources.

“We are excited to level the playing field for these programs and we are confident that placing these teams in football coaching positions will have a lasting impact,” said Roman above, NFL Director of Football Development.

Each of the 32 clubs in the NFL selected 10 eligible schools to sponsor in their area. Packers-sponsored Wisconsin football programs include:

  • Bradford High School, Kenosha
  • Cambria – Friesland School, Cambria
  • Cudahy High School, Cudahy
  • Delavan – Darien High School, Delavan
  • Ladysmith Middle School, Ladysmith
  • Nathan Halen High School, West Allis
  • Park High School, Racine
  • South Milwaukee High School, South Milwaukee
  • St. Francis High School, Saint Francis
  • Waukesha South High School, Waukesha

Each school receives unlimited access to free resources from True Impact Football partners: Glazier Clinics, Lead ‘Em Up and Booster Club Academy. All of the school’s coaching staff have access to any of Glazier’s football coaching clinics nationwide; access to Glazier Drive, the online football coach learning platform; Conduct ‘Em Up Leadership and Team Captain courses; and fundraising tools through the Booster Club Academy.

“We believe every player, team and community deserves a great football coach,” said Josh Peterson True Impact Footballista. “We are convinced that supporting football coaches in these underserved schools will have a big impact not only on the players but also on the wider communities.”
