Gabe Landeskog will play against Arizona on Saturday

Avalanche captain Gabe Landeskog’s latest job on the Covid list is over.

Avs coach Jared Bednar said Landeskog’s five-day compulsory absence from the positive test ended on Friday and he boarded the team’s charter plane to prepare for Saturday’s second series of the barn barn with Arizona Coyotes.

Avs, who won their 13th consecutive game at home against Coyotes on Friday in a 4-3 penalty shootout, will start on former coyote Darcy Kuemper’s finish.

Landeskog is likely to return to the top spot with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

Avs lost veteran D-man Ryan Murray on Friday due to an upper body injury. Avs is already without defender Bo Byram, who is on personal vacation from the team. By late Friday night, no one had visited reminded Avs from the Colorado Eagles, possibly Murray.

Kurtis MacDermid is likely to join the defense now, especially when Landeskog is back.
