COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Matej Vocel was again dominant last week, leading Ohio State 5th in two wins and has been selected as the biggest tennis player of the week for the second consecutive week.
Vocel and the Buckeyes won the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Chapel Hill, NC 4-0 from Arizona and 17th from North Carolina.
Prague, Czech Republic, went on combined with a 4-0 pair of ranked wins. He lost just nine games in four doubles, beating Arizona State 118. Max McKennon and knocked out Benjamin Sigouin at home 6-1, 6-3. In the doubles, he lost just one of two double wins in the game, winning the Arizona State team 6-0 and defeating Casey Kania and Logan Zapp in the 20th North Carolina 6-1.
This year, Vocel will be in a doubles 15-3 against nine winning opponents. He ranks 5th in the doubles rankings, and he and Cash are the best in the country in doubles, with a record of 17-2.
Vocel and the Buckeyes are facing a big weekend as they host Tennessee No. 1 on Friday night and Virginia on Sunday 6th.
