Vermont Division 2 Top 5

Rank Team *PR W L T
1 Hartford 1 20 0 0
2 U-32 3 12 5 0
3 Milton 2 13 5 1
4 Mt. Mansfield NR 11 7 1
5 Woodstock 5 10 8 2

The 20-0 Hartford Hurricanes earned a first round bye and are clear favorites to take a D2 title. Sixteen of their regular season wins were by two or more goals. In the small hockey landscape of Vermont, there is not much daylight between divisions. Hartford did not play any D1 teams this year, so it is tough to assess exactly how strong a team is.

The Burlington Free Press power rankings on Feb 17th placed them as the third best team overall in the Vermont. If their goal scoring machine turns on, they will be tough to beat.

U-32 ascends to the # 2 spot with a close win over Milton. Not counting one goal loss to Powerhouse Hartford, they have not lost a game since December 19th. They will play struggling at St Johnsbury Academy on February 26th in the opening round of the Division 2 state tournament ..

The # 3 Milton Yellowjackets were stung in a 4-3 loss to U-32, but enter the Playoffs with confidence. They host Burlington on Febrruary 26.

# 4 Mount Mansfield Union jumps back into the rankings as they ended the season with big wins over Burlington and Missisquoi. They play Northfield in the first round.

# 5 Woodstock finished the season with a 4-4 tie against the Lyndon Institute and will play Missisquoi in the opening round.
