Rutgers football recruiting update: Greg Schiano courting homegrown Talent heading into the spring evaluation period

As we enter the 2022 spring evaluation period, Greg Schiano recently became the first Power Five head Coach to offer an in-state up-and-coming junior edge-slash-tight end from North Jersey. And with New Jersey’s 2023 class less potent than normal, Rutgers has also pounced on NJ’s sophomores and freshmen, where it found a gem who Schiano hopes can help Rutgers thrive in the Big Ten East.

A 6-6, 240-pound defensive lineman from Roselle Park (NJ), Ted Gregoire visited Rutgers on Saturday and went home with an offer after being evaluated by staff, and having a sit-down with Schiano in his office. Syracuse followed with an offer on Wednesday and won’t likely be his last.
