Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra on Tuesday went to the `Visitor Gallery ‘at Green Park stadium and inspected the ongoing developmental works.
Reaching the gallery at 8 am, he took a round of the display section, saw the 10 minutes HD movie in Green Park, visited the Cricket cafe, restaurant and virtual pitch (under construction), said a press release.He lauded the efforts of the Kanpur Smart City and the sports department for constructing the ‘Visitor Gallery.
Divisional Commissioner Kanpur Raj Shekhar informed Mishra about a lift at the media gallery and the new badminton and table tennis courts being constructed in the Green Park stadium. He appreciated these initiatives and asked the officials to complete the project in time, the release further said. He Suggested setting up an interactive digital Kiosk / display at 2-3 points for the information and active participation of the guests and Cricket lovers, the release added.
He asked the officials to involve more and more Cricket players and Cricket lovers and the public who can give feedback and suggestions to make the best use of the facilities.
“Set up a‘ Green Park Club ’for providing facilities at the` Visitor Gallery ’and the upcoming badminton court,” he said.
The commissioner requested the chief secretary to Sanction more funds for adding 15000-20000 more seats in the Pavilion of the Green Park Cricket stadium so that it could compete with private Stadiums like Ekana stadium of Lucknow, the release stated .tnn
