LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Seven members of the University of Michigan softball team were named 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Monday (Aug. 1).

The NFCA Scholar-Athlete roster honors student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall 2021 and winter 2022 semesters. More than 7,500 student-athletes earned the recognition in across all collegiate divisions in 2021-22. Michigan’s honorees included Emerson Aiken, Meghan Beaubien, Taylor Bump, Jessica Garmen, Melina Livingston, Ella McVey and Lexi Voss.

Michigan boasted 12 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big Ten team last spring — 80 percent of eligible recipients — while Beaubien and Bump added Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades. Beaubien and Bump are NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2021; the NFCA did not present the award following the shortened 2020 season.
