Table tennis – Neu-Ulm Sovereign in the Champions League – Sport

The TTC Neu-Ulm has fulfilled its first mandatory tasks in the Table Tennis Champions League. The favored trio Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Lin Yun-ju and Truls Moregardh easily prevailed in their preliminary group in Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania. There was a 3-0 win against the hosts from Transylvania, as well as against the teams from Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Apuania (Italy). The world-class ensemble lost three sets in nine matches without the world number four Tomokazu Harimoto. For Lin, number seven in the world, it was the Premiere in the Neu-Ulm jersey, Ovtcharov (number 10) and Moregardh (6) had already made their debuts in the Bundesliga. A second group phase follows in the Champions League.
