Cowgirl Tennis Wraps Up Day Three in Lubbock

LUBBOCK Three members of the Oklahoma State Women’s team wrapped up day three at the ITF 15k Lubbock Pro Circuit this afternoon.

The day started with Ayumi Miyamoto dominating Indiana Spink, 6-3, 6-0, to advance to round two of the main draw. Kristina Novak was defeated by Avelina Sayfetdinova, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.

In doubles, Miyamoto teamed up with Lisa Marie Rioux for the first time since the NCAA semi-finals. The All-American duo defeated Thasaporn Naklo and Mia Yamakita, 6-4, 6-3, to move on to the next round.

Raquel Gonzalez completed the day by winning her doubles matchup, 6-3, 6-1, with fellow Spaniard and Arkansas freshman, Carolina Gomez.

The Cowgirls will be back in action tomorrow starting with Miyamoto and Gonzalez competing against each other at 10 am
