BCCI Urges Hyderabad Cricket Association to Address Cricket Development Concerns with Telangana Officials

The Board of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) has ordered the Hyderabad Cricket Association to meet with representatives of the Telangana Cricket Association and address their concerns regarding, among other things, the development of cricket outside the city of Hyderabad.

A statement signed by BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Treasurer Arun Dhumal says the TCA has explained in great detail their concerns and problems they face.

BCCI appreciates TCA’s efforts and their concern about developing cricket in Telangana State (outside Hyderabad), it is said.

Although the BCCI cannot accept the representation of an associate membership of the TCA, the BCCI believes that the TCA, in cooperation with the HCA, can contribute to the growth and development of cricket in Telangana, the communication states.

The HCA is to address TCA concerns in a time-bound manner. It is also intended to report on its actions regarding the development of cricket outside Hyderabad within six months of the date of this BCCI order.

This is the primary reflection and recognition of TCA’s work over the past seven years from villages to the district level throughout Telangana to promote cricket, identify and manage talent, said TCA Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy.

Under the supervision of BCCI, we are trying to ensure that Telangana’s stunning cricket gifts rise to new heights, he said.

We strive to develop a unified and equal opportunity solution under the supervision of BCCI. Our concern is about the consistency of structures and the representation of districts in the teams of state age groups (men and women) in various committees, including selection and membership, Guruva Reddy stated.

HCA SGM postponed

At the same time, a special meeting of the HCA’s supreme body, convened by members of the Apex Council under the chairmanship of Secretary R. Vijayanand on 18 July, has been postponed for unavoidable reasons.

“The new schedule will be reviewed for allied club secretaries,” the secretary said.

HCA interim leader K. John Manoj informed the Hindu that at a meeting convened by former parliamentarian and daughter of Telangana Prime Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha, which was also attended by HCA President Mohd Azharuddin, both groups agreed to conduct trials and act in unison.

“But once again, this must be reciprocal before July 22 for the proper functioning of the future,” he said.
