College football teams have to replace major talent all the time. Many lose star players to the NFL draft or even to the transfer portal. We’ve seen people fill the shoes just fine. Just look at how Stroud took charge of Justin Fields. We’ve also seen things go south as LSU struggled to find a quarterback for two seasons after Joe Burrow led the Tigers to the 2019 title.
