England smashed Test cricket record books in 2022 on an out-of-this-world display.

The Poms have won nine of their last 10 matches since former New Zealand superstar Brendon McCullum took charge.

McCullum had a knack for pillaging bowling attacks all over the world and he brought the same flair to England.

Called Bazball, the English have brought the one-day style attacking flair to the Test cricket format and left the spectators watching in awe.

Ben Stokes’ men are currently ranked third behind Australia and India, but a new found style has seen them etch their name into the history books.

England finished the 2022 calendar year with a run rate of 4.13 per over 15 Tests. An unheard of figure in Test cricket, not seen for 112 years.

It is the second highest run rate ever recorded in a calendar year since Test cricket began in 1877.

Only Australia surpassed the staggering figure in 1910 when their Run Rate was 4.47 per over, but that figure came from two Tests.

Throughout Test history, the magical four runs per over mark has been achieved three times with Australia in 2003 (12 Tests) being third at 4.08 runs.

England stepped up their attack in the final month of the year when they took on Pakistan.

England ventured into enemy territory and swept their opponents aside in a 3-0 drubbing as they smashed Pakistan’s bowling attack for 5.50 runs.

The team’s highest running speed during the calendar year:

1: Australia in 1910 (2 Tests) = 4.47

2: England in 2022 (15 tests) = 4.13

3: Australia in 2003 (12 Tests) 4.08

4: Australia in 2002 (11 Tests) = 3.99

5: South Africa in 1902 (3 Tests) = 3.98

As a result of the series win, England won more victories in Pakistan than ever before, having won only two Tests beforehand.

In the opening Test, the Poms claimed the biggest win in Test history on a chaotic final day in Rawalpindi.

This is one of the biggest Test match wins you will ever see, commented commentator Nasser Hussain.

Meanwhile, English media personality Piers Morgan labeled it the biggest win in Test history the cricketing world went wild for the unbelievable result.
