Wrestling Falls Short Oklahoma State, 4-5 p.m

STILLWATER, Okla. The No. 8 ranked University of Missouri wrestling team lost a close dual match to No. 11 Oklahoma State 16-17 on Sunday, February 5th. The match was tied 16-16 after the final match, but OSU won on the count.

Redshirt junior Brock Mauler put Missouri in the lead, claiming a 3-2 decision at 149 pounds. Second year student Keegan O’Toole extended his bonus point streak to four fights and won a major decision (14-4) at 165 pounds. The match of the evening went to the redshirt junior Peyton Mocco who upset No. 5 Dustin Plott by a 4-3 decision at 184 pounds.

Redshirt junior Zach Elam and a redshirt sophomore Noah Surtin both won at 285 and 125 pounds. Elam grabbed a 4-2 decision, while Surtin used riding time to get a 2-1 decision.

MATCH NOTES

• Missouri’s all-time record against Oklahoma State is now 7-44-1.
• Keegan has now won 41 straight matches heading into the 2021 NCAA Championships. In addition, the sophomore has earned bonus points in his last four games.
• Mocco pulls off his upset of No. 5 Dustin Plott with a 6-4 decision. The redshirt junior now has 16 wins, which leads the team. He also has a .842 winning percentage on the season.
