Cleveland State men’s tennis defeated Bryant Athletics 7-0

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Cleveland State men’s tennis team won its third straight match on Saturday, going 7-0 against Bryant in a neutral-site match. With the win, the Vikings improved to 7-4 overall this year.

Cleveland State was able to take an early doubles lead 6-3 with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 as Raul Teichmann/Kade Mindry and Mikael Erler/Devin Boyer picked up respective victories.

The Vikings were then able to sweep all six singles matches, including a 7-6(12), 7-6(2) victory from Maxime Mareschal-Hay at the top of the lineup, marking his team-leading 13.th singles win of the year. Joining Mareschal-Hay in his 13th win of the season is Raul Teichmann, who won 6-2, 6-3 in singles on Saturday.

On Saturday, Mikael Erler became the fifth Viking to reach double-digit singles wins this year. He won 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(2) from the No. 3 seed.

Devin Boyer (6-2, 6-2) and Carl Gedlitschka (6-2, 6-3) won one set at Nos. 4 and 5, while JuandeDios Abboud won 3-6, 6. -2, 1-0(4 ) win from 6th place at the end of singles.

The Vikings continue the weekend tomorrow (Sunday, February 19) against Binghamton at 2:00 p.m.
