Women’s tennis falls at UC Davis, 4-2

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The University of Hawaii women’s tennis team (3-6, 1-1 Big West) fell on the road against UC Davis 4-2. The match, originally scheduled for Friday, was moved to the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center about 30 miles from the UC Davis campus on Saturday due to inclement weather.

The match started with singles. UCD and UH were tied 2-2 before the Aggies won at No. 2 and No. 5 to clinch the win. Hawaii’s 3rd place in the loss Klara Novakova won in three sets over Michelle Zell 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 and on court No. 6 UH’s Anna Kern beat UCD’s Carly Schwartzberg in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

Hawaii’s game Sunday at California 54 was canceled due to rain. The Rainbow Wahine now head south for Big West action at Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, March 14th and Long Beach State on Thursday, March 16th.
