Men’s tennis overtakes rider in Orlando, 7-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marquette University men’s tennis team (3-10) defeated Rider (3-6) 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the USTA National campus.

Marquette quickly took the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage in singles.

Stefan Dragovic, Tina Krstulovic and Gui Da Matta all took Marquette’s straight wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 6.

Senior Rami Scheetz took the tie-break win at No. 3, 6-3, 6-7, 10-4.

Freshman Thomas Nelson earned the No. 4 singles win in a three-set effort.

Freshman Blake Roegner earned his first collegiate win at No. 5, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

NEXT: The Golden Eagles will face Fairfield University on Thursday, March 16.
