Tampa, Fla., March 16, 2023 The University of South Florida track and field team returns to the USF Track and Field Stadium this weekend to host its first meet of the 2023 outdoor season at the USF BullsInvitational.

“We are looking forward to a good weekend of athletics,” head coach Erik Jenkins said, “This meet features teams that have recently won team titles in their respective national championships, and also includes several teams that have won conference championships. Several programs currently have individual national champions on their rosters.”

Shania Benjamin, Kendall McDaniel,Annie Ashley,Jadaja Baxterand Loren Johnson start the weekend on Friday at 14:00 in the women’s long jump. Audrey Weurffel, Riley Hunt, He Sweetand Anna Zeinemannjump into the pole vault soon after.

Johann Jeremiah will represent South Florida in the men’s shot put at 3:00 p.m., followed byAlliya Boothe andAmeilya Richardson in the women’s hammer competition.

Kobe Babin, Stone Bakerand Noah Bitter will compete in the men’s pole vault at 16:30 and David Drivein the men’s long jump.

Ending the day with field events is Amber Brown and Boothe in the javelin and shot put, respectively.

Sanique Walker starts on Friday at 5 pm on the 400m hurdles track, followed by Carolyn Brown, Arden La Rose, Victoria Valdez, Alyssa Wyatt, Ashley Silvaand Gina Fuca in the women’s 800 meters. In the meantime, let’s see the men’s competition Ezekiel Shore and Troy Plains.

Benjamin,Je’Nia Burton,A’Kyrah O’BannerandDoneisha Andersonwill represent the green and gold in the women’s 200m at 6:20 p.m., followed byShevioe Reid,Zayquan Lincoln, Monte Parkerand MichaelBourneIII in the men’s competition.

Friday’s competition ends at 19:00 with a 5000 meter run, where e.g. Cora Kolodge, Chloe Byrd,Aleecia Collins, Kelly Lynch, Marissa Hagenbarth, Mira Stimac, Hailey Cohenand Amanda Medina-Torres in the women’s team and Nickolas Kamen, Tyler Wadsworth, Julian Yescas andWilliam Armbruster in the men’s 5000m run.

On Saturday, Mosley, Ajama and Babin will start the day in the high jump at 11:00 a.m., along with Johnson in the triple jump and Jeremiah in the discus.

Ashley and McDaniel close out the day’s field events at 1:30 p.m. in the high jump, while Boothe and Richardson compete in the discus.

The day’s track events begin with the women’s 400 relay at 12:30 p.m., followed by the men’s heats. MadelinaAbegaandChakia Plummerhelp lead the Bulls in the 100 hurdles at 1:20 p.m., while Bournecompete’s men’s race soon after.

Later in the day, Burton, Anderson, Hugg and O’Banner ran the 400m, after which Elijah Wright, Daunte O’Banionand Parker. The women’s and men’s 4×400 m relays conclude the match on Saturday at 15:50.

The Bulls will also recognize their seniors this weekend. driving,Danelson MahautiereWright, Romaine BeckfordJeremiah, Parker, Ben Kyles,Patricia RoshoffAnderson, Hannah ConnellJohnson and O’Banner will be honored for their participation in the program on Saturday at 3:35 p.m

About USF Athletics
The USF track and field team has earned 53 All-American selections and at least one All-American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. The Tampa native Shania Benjamin set a program record and earned three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while 2016 graduate triple jumper Matthew O’Neal became USF’s first six-time NCAA All-American. The Bulls have two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 – O’Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). The head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020, and in the 2021 offseason, the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top-10 all-time program points. USF will host the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at USF Track and Field Stadium, located on the east end of campus.
