Tampa, Fla. (March 31, 2023) Well. 64 USF Women’s Tennis posts seventh straight win. The thrilling 4-3 came in a win against No. 48 Rice in Houston. In the process, the Bulls snapped Rice’s four-game winning streak.

The Bulls needed a strong comeback, and the match ended with a three-run victory Grace Schumacher in the final match of the day to seal the win.

The Bulls started the day by earning a point in a double play.

In the first court Sierra Berryand Grace Schumacher an impressive 6-3 win, the fourth in a row, to secure the double for the Bulls. The duo improved their singles record for the season to 6-2.

In the third courtFont Marta FalcetoandChristians of Nadja Baygot the Bulls off to a hot start and took their match 6-3. They have now won two consecutive doubles matches together.

Two-time AAC Player of the Week in singles Sierra Berry gave the Bulls their first win 6-4, 6-3 and led 2-1 early in the match. Berry improves to 13-2 on the season in singles play.

The lead evaporated as Rice won the next two games to put the Bulls down 3-1 with two games tied.

The Bulls stepped closer than Laura Pellicer survived with a hard win. Pellicer won the first set 7-6 to tie the match 8-6 and won the second set 6-4 to earn his fourth straight singles victory. Pellicer improved her singles record to 8-7 on the season.

It all ended with the last singles match on the courts. Grace Schumacher dropped the first set 3-6 and then came back to win 7-6 in a 7-3 tie to continue the match. Schumacher made quick work of a 6-1 third period to seal the win for the Bulls.

The win was the seventh straight for the Bulls, improving their season record to 11-5.
