Water polo drops two games to Princeton and Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Bucknell Bison women’s water polo team (5-20, 0-6 CWPA) dropped two games to ranked opponents on Saturday. The Bison fell 20-4 to No. 7 Princeton and 19-7 to No. 14 Harvard.

Game Recap: #7 Princeton 20, Bucknell 4

Bison trailed 6-1 after the first set and couldn’t catch up. To Bella Schra goal cut the deficit to 2-1, but Princeton scored four straight to end the period.

Princeton opened the second period with two more goals before Schraa scored again. The Tigers scored twice again before a Bucknell field goal ended the mini-run. This time, Isabelle Monaghan found the back of the net. For the third time, Princeton scored two more goals. Gwen Kallmeyerended the half and the Bison scored the game-tying goal with 18 seconds left to give Princeton a 12-4 halftime lead.

Princeton scored a total of five goals in the third period and four goals in the final period, making the final score 20-4.
