Women’s golf continues at the Silverado Showdown

NAPA, California The #26 Pepperdine women’s golf team finished the second round of the Chevron Silverado Showdown on Tuesday afternoon and Jeneth Wong and Kaleiya Romero are both in the top 10 heading into the third and final round on Wednesday.

The Waves finished with a two-day score of 595 (301-294) on the par-72, 6,146-yard Silverado Resort North Course, led by Wong, who is tied for sixth by shooting even par through two rounds. Romero is exactly the eighth 1-over performance on the way to the final round.

Pepperdine is tied with #6 San Jose State and is 1 stroke back of #9 Arizona State and 3 strokes back of #8 Oregon. #16 Northwestern is currently in the lead at 4-under after two rounds.

• Freshman Jeneth Wong(Melbourne, Australia) is tied for sixth^th with a two-round score of 144 (71-73). He has collected seven birdies in the tournament so far, four of them in the second round.
• Junior Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, California) is tied for 8th^th with a score of 145 (75-70). He posted five birdies and shot 2-under in the second round.
