LAHORE – Pakistan’s number one table tennis player Pernia Khan has thanked caretaker CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi’s Sports Adviser Wahab Riaz for organizing a highly competitive sports series.
Pernia, who is a two-time bronze medalist in the Junior South Asian Federation (SAF) Games, said in an interview that the Ramadan Sports Series organized by the Sports Board of Punjab (SBP) will help the athletes for longer. and such tournaments should be regular exercises.
– After a very long time, I am playing in such a high-level tournament, Pernia said. “I would like to appreciate the organizers and want such tournaments to be held regularly,” he added. Pernia has made it to the finals of the singles event.
He is hopeful not only for the win but also for the upcoming doubles. “I have reached the singles final. It is a tough competition and all national level athletes are involved, he said. The national athlete thanked his parents for their help throughout.
“My parents are always supportive. It is because of them that I am here today. I always want to make them proud,” she assured. Finally, while sharing her future goals, Pernia said that she wants to represent Pakistan in the Paris Olympics 2024. “My goal is the Paris Olympics 2024. It will take a lot of hard work. I am sure I will survive in the mega event,” she concluded.
