Two Michigan football inside linebackers were ranked in the top 10 in the nation by Pro Football Focus.
We all know that Michigan football is as elite as it gets when it comes to offensive lines in college football. And while we lost two starters from last year’s team, this year’s offense should be just as good, if not better.
That’s quite a prediction, but I said it all here, and Pro Football Focus’ ranking of the top 10 inside linebackers in college football makes me feel even better about saying this year’s O-line is as good or better than the one that won the Joe Moore Award in 2022 .
Michigan football has actually won the Joe Moore Award the last two years, and Zak Zinter has been a huge part of that. The bottom line is that Zinter should be a millionaire right now because if he declared for the NFL draft, he would easily have been a day two pick.
Next year I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes in the first round. He is so controlling.
Michigan football’s O-Line is going to be elite
Pro Football Focus certainly agrees, as it ranked Zinter third among returning offensive linemen indoors for the 2023 season.
There are actually two Michigan football players on the list, as Drake Nugent, who transferred from Stanford after being the starting center there the last two seasons, came in as the No. 6 interior offensive lineman.
Nugent was one of the more underrated additions on the transfer portal, and this point from Pro Football Focus backs that up.
On top of that, I have to say that I think Michigan football fell short on this list because you can’t tell me that Trevor Keegan isn’t one of the best interior offensive linemen in college football.
As big as it was for Michigan to get Blake Corum back, having Keegan and Zinter back for another season is just as important.
The Wolverines have as much offensive line talent as any program in the country, and honestly, all five of their projected starters should be drafted if they decide to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
Karsen Barnhart and LaDarius Henderson will be great at tackle, and there is some interior offensive lineman depth.
Michigan football was the only team to land two players in Pro Football Focus’ top 10, so you can expect more elites in 2023 from the offensive line.
