It’s time for some matinee hockey, with Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals starting at 3pm EDT. You have $125 in salary to distribute to 5 Golden Knights and/or stars. One player is the superstar on your roster and earns you 1.5x points. Don’t forget to get an early start and check out this lineup for ideas.
SUPERSTAR
Roope HintzDAL in VGK ($31): When you can add a playoff leading scorer to your roster, you do. With three extra points in the opener, Hintz now has 22. There has only been one game this postseason where the Finn was truly shut out, and that was Game 3 against the Wild.
FLEX
Jack EichelVGK vs. DAL ($31): Much has been made of the Golden Knights’ depth, but someone has to be the tip of the spear. As the center of the first line and a member of the top power unit, Eichel is a player for Vegas. He did not score a point on Friday, but directed four shots into the net. Eichel has 14 points and 43 shots in 12 playoff games. And Jake Oettinger, in particular, has posted a 3.81 GAA and .867 save percentage in seven road starts this season.
Joe PavelskiDAL in VGK ($27): Pavelski’s four-goal outburst to open the second round won’t be repeated, but he’s still managed seven points in the next seven games, including two assists in the first game against Vegas.
Jonathan MarchessaultVGK vs. DAL ($22): Marchessault gets plenty of opportunities on the first line, starting a strong 68.2 percent of his turnovers in the offensive zone, which unsurprisingly leads the Golden Knights. He’s also had a whopping 48 shots on net over his last 11 games, which could help given Oettinger’s aforementioned subpar save percentage away from home.
Max DomiDAL in VGK ($12): I went with high-value players in my first four — these are the playoffs, betting on stars who get a lot of minutes — so I needed a lower-paid player to round out my lineup. Domi is the second line center with 11 points in the last 10 games. While his role certainly diminished after coming from Chicago, he still has a bigger role than most low-cost picks with a clear offensive end.
