SALT LAKE CITY Carson Suesue, a three-star prospect from West Valley City’s Granger High School, committed to signing a national letter of intent with the BYU football program on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound athletic quarterback claimed offers from Utah State, Tennessee, Utah, Arizona State and Pittsburgh, among others, at the time of his commitment. Suesue will play at Granger this fall after preparing for De La Salle his previous two seasons where he showed superior athleticism playing the quarterback position.
In 13 games at De La Salle, Suesue threw for 784 yards and seven touchdowns against just one interception on a 59.5% completion percentage. He also rushed for 162 yards on 52 carries, according to Maxpreps.

Suesue is focused on competing for the quarterback spot at BYU, though his athleticism could lead to a variety of positions.
The commitment makes Suesue the second quarterback commitment in BYU’s 2024 signing class, along with Enoch Watson, who committed to the Cougars in June. Suesue is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and, like Watson, plans to serve a two-year mission before enrolling at BYU.

At a glance, Suesue reminds me a lot of Neil Pau’us from his film. Pau’u prepped at Servite High School in Southern California where he played quarterback before moving to receiver in college where he proved to be very productive for the Cougars. There’s a lot to figure out as to what position Suesue will play, though the initial focus will be at quarterback after he returns from his mission.
