Miami football Pro Football Focus power rankings

Miami’s football team is ranked ninth in the recently released Pro Football Focus ACC Power Rankings. Miami enters the 2023 season after finishing 5-7 in 2022 and in a conference that eliminated divisions this year. Miami plays five of the eight teams ranked ahead of them in the PFF Power Rankings.

Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Boston College, the three teams at the bottom of the PFF ACC Power Rankings, are on the 2023 Miami football schedule. The 2023 Miami schedule is backloaded. Miami has a chance to start the season 5-0. Miami is favored in four of the first five games in 2023.

Miami opens the season Sept. 1 against Miami (Ohio), hosts Texas A&M in week two, followed by Bethune-Cookman and a visit to Temple. After the bye week, Miami hosts Georgia Tech. Miami is a 17.0-point favorite vs. Miami (Ohio) and a 7.5-point underdog at home vs. Texas A&M per FanDuel odds.

Miami No other odds are available for Miami games until 2023. Expect Miami to be the underdog in games at North Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida State, and at home against Clemson. Miami vs. Louisville on Nov. 18 is too far away to predict a season favorite.

Miami is ranked 29th on the season ESPN Football Power Index. Clemson is first among ACC teams in FPI, ranking eighth nationally. Florida State is second in the ACC and eighth nationally in FPI, and North Carolina is third and 25th as the only team ranked ahead of Miami.

According to FPI projections, Miami would have 7.8 wins and 4.5 losses. Miami has a 94.3 percent chance to win six games and make a bowl, a 21.8 percent chance to make the ACC Championship game and a 6.3 percent chance to win the title. The road to the ACC title game is much more difficult in divisional elimination.
