Uniqlo looked at a group of athletes to help the brand create effective active clothing. Under the “Everyday Performance” concept, the Uniqlo + LifeWear collection is the result of a joint effort with top Swedish athletes.
Since 2019, the global clothing retailer has been the official clothing partner for the Swedish Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Its first team brand ambassador was later founded under the name Uniqlo Team Sweden, whose members include athletes representing a variety of sports such as boxing, football, swimming, wheelchair table tennis and wrestling.
The Uniqlo + collection is only available from CentralWorld and online stores, and is inspired by the direct input and testing of athletes and other global brand ambassadors.

The new line of products optimizes comfort even in cramped summer conditions. Development also took place at a basic research institute located at Uniqlo’s headquarters in Tokyo.
The new laboratory has a weather simulation chamber that repeats the midsummer temperature and humidity conditions for functional experiments to map the zones of heat, sweating, and movement in the human body during exercise.
The results were used to improve the breathability and moisture permeability of innovative active clothing. The palette includes Swedish blue and yellow, light gray and other colors that stay cool for optimal comfort.

After Uniqlo’s commitment to sustainability, production used recycled materials and environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques.
For example, recycled polyester made from discarded PET plastic bottles and polyester fibers made from renewable biomass were incorporated into fabrics, while fluoride-free water-repellent materials were used to make Uniqlo’s lightest parka ever.
