Kieran Trippier: Atletico Madrid wants £ 43m as Manchester United seeks England defender | Football news

Atletico Madrid wants almost £ 43 million (€ 50 million) if it plans to sell Kieran Trippier this summer.

The Spanish champions don’t want to resign from England’s right-wing defender, who has two years left on his current contract.

Manchester United are interested in agreeing on Trippier in the summer to increase competition for Aaron Wan-Bissau.

However, Atletico has not yet received an offer from United, despite announcements to revert to the approach.

Sky Sports news first revealed United’s interest in Trippier before the January transfer window but he was then banned from 10 matches for violating FA betting rules.

The 30-year-old returned to action in March and was impressed when Diego Simeone’s team won La Liga from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He is currently part of the England Euro 2020 team and started the left defender in Croatia’s opening victory.

In addition to the tripper United is also interested in Norwich right-back defender Max Aarons – but the former defender of Tottenham and Burnley brought a wealth of experience to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In addition to England’s 29 caps, Trippier has a La Liga title under his belt and played in the Champions League final under Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
