PHILADELPHIA Director of Athletics at the University of La Salle Brian Baptiste announced the head hockey coach on Tuesday MaKayla Hancock has resigned from his position to pursue other career opportunities.
“We want to thank MaKayla for leading our ground sand program and appreciate her dedication to the student-athlete experience,” Baptiste said. “We wish him the best of luck in this next chapter of the journey.”
Hancock was promoted from assistant coach to head coach at La Salle after the 2019 season, and he also served as an assistant in Northeast Providence before moving to Philadelphia.
“I am blessed and very grateful to the student-athletes, alumni, coaches and administration I have had the pleasure of working with while in La Salle,” Hancock said. “This is a special place with even better people. It’s bitterly sweet to close this chapter out of my life, but I’m excited about what’s next. I wish La Salle athletics and field hockey a lot of success. Go Explorers!”
