Marshall loyalists rejoice, as it were, in 1995 again when another Pennington has pledged to join the Thundering Herd football program.
Cole Pennington, the son of legendary Marshall quarterback Chad Pennington, announced on social media his commitment to first-year head coach Charles Huff in Huntington.

Marshall was the first school to offer a scholarship to Pennington in September 2020.
Pennington will be the 17th chance to commit to the 2022 Marshalls class, and will join the class media of other back players Chase Harrison and Peter Zamora.
Pennington plays for another season at Sayre School (Ky.) For his father, Chad, who is the head coach of the Spartans.
247 Sports rated Cole as a 3-star customer and has deals in Ball State, Akron, Eastern Kentucky and UT-Martin.
Chad Pennington starred in Marshall from 1995-1999 before being selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Pennington continued to play for the Jets and Miami Dolphins before calling it a career in 2010.
