Wimbledon 2021 tennis – “He has it all” – John McEnroe greeted Sebastian Korda as American stops Dan Evans

Britain’s number one Dan Evans suffered a frustrating four-round loss to American rising star Sebastian Korda when he lost 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round of Wimbledon.

Evans had offered to reach the final 16 in SW19 for the first time, but the exciting Korda was outside the player – a player who is sure to be one of the game’s best stars for years to come.

The 31-year-old British had not dropped the series during his two inaugural matches and came to the Central Court clash in fine form during and after the clay field.

But the number 22 seed couldn’t match the intensity of the 20-year-old Wimbledon’s debut, which dictated much of the game and made sure the home favorite was always kept behind.

Korda, Wimbledon’s debut, looked completely at home on the big stage when he experienced an encounter and never seemed to lose the match despite Evans ’best efforts.

Former Australian Open champion Petri’s son, Korda, demonstrated his tremendous service and strong grounding, leaving Evans silent for most of the confrontation.

At world number 50, Kordan is expected by many to make a big impact in Wimbledon and elsewhere – something he is clearly already doing.

“He has a game, a conviction, calmness – he has it all. In fact, things can only get better,” tennis legend John McEnroe told the BBC after the match.

Korda turns 21 on Monday when he receives Karen Khachanov, Russia’s 25th seed, in their last 16 encounters.
