Kyle Schwarber, a Washington citizen, ends the game with an obvious right foot injury

WASHINGTON – Citizens lost the hottest slug in baseball to the right hind limb injury when Kyle Schwarber was eliminated Friday night in the second match of a 10-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Washington.

Schwarber separated the right midfield opening and wrinkled as he rounded first. He stopped hard when Cody Bellinger cut off the bus and reached his right hind limb after returning to the first base.

Director Dave Martinez and the team’s trainer came to check on Schwarber, who walked right off the field. Schwarber grabbed the batting gloves and threw them as he limped through the well.

Martinez said after the game that he did not yet know the severity of the injury. Schwarber will have a magnetic resonance imaging early Saturday morning.

The left-wing national team set a franchise record for 16 home teams in June – seven of them led the game – helping the nationals turn the season and get back into the NL East competition. He became the third player in Premier League history to have beaten 16 home contestants in 18 matches, and only Sammy Sosa (20 in 1998) has found more of his home in June.

Earlier on Friday, Schwarber was named NL Player of the Month.

Gerardo Parra replaced Schwarber for the Nationals team, who has been injured. Trea Turner has forgotten the last two games with a finger injury, and the team is also an undisclosed pitcher Stephen Strasburg, among others.
