“Racker Rivals Big Red” charity disc returns to Lynah Rink

Racker has announced the return Racker Rivals Big Red, a passionate show-style hockey game that brings together NHL stars, Cornell Hockey alumni and local celebrities to support programs for children with disabilities in our community.

Last year’s event was completely virtual because of covid-19, but still broke donation records.

In the eighth year, an incredible array of current and former NHL players and hockey legends ready to return to the ice.

The puck will drop at 4pm on August 14th.

The list already includes:

– Dustin Brown, two-time Stanley Cup winner and current NHL player with the Los Angeles Kings;

– Cornell Hockey alum and current AHL player Anthony Angello;

– Tampa Bay lightning current defender and striker Daniel Walcott;

– Stanley Cup winner and US Hockey Hall of Famer Mike Richter ‘

– Three-time Stanley Cup winner, double Olympics and fan favorite Joe Nieuwendyk.

The match features two talented hockey teams led by Cornells Big Red Hockey coach Mike Schafer and Tompkins Trust Company CEO Greg Hartz.

Both continue to add to the list of already impressive teams until the game.
