Google updated its Google Maps app for iPhone today to add support for widgets that can be added to both the Today view and the home screen.
There are two separate widget options. The former allows users to check traffic conditions, store opening hours, restaurant reviews and more for a given location, while the latter is designed to allow users to find nearby places such as restaurants, gas stations. and grocery stores.
The widget can also be used to quickly access directions home and has a search interface for entering directions directly from the Home screen.
You can access the Google Maps widget by using the “+” button in Today view or on the Home Screen after downloading the latest version of the app. [Direct Link]
